Dr Meredith Hodge
Dr Meredith Hodge graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1995. She commenced Microbiology training in 2003 during which time she also worked as the Pathology Informatics Registrar at Fremantle Hospital where a custom-built pathology on-line requesting and reporting system was introduced. She completed her Masters of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in 2005. Her Microbiology training was conducted at Fremantle, Sir Charles Gardner and Princess Margaret Hospitals in Perth, and she gained her FRCPA in 2008. Meredith joined WDP in April 2010 as a sessional Microbiologist. Her special interests include bacterial typing methods (particularly in hospital outbreaks), PCR development, microbial virulence, clinical bacteriology and virology, and public health.
Dr Julie Crawford MBBS, FRACP, FRCPA
Dr Crawford graduated from the University of Western Australia. She completed her physician training at Royal Perth Hospital before training in haematology at Royal Perth Hospital and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. She undertook a Fellowship with the University of Edinburgh and the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service in 2006 and has spent three and half years overseas. She is completing a Doctor of Medicine with the MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine/ University of Edinburgh in the area of adult cell therapy. She returned to Perth in late 2009 and is working as a consultant haematologist with Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Western Diagnostic Pathology. She has an interest in all areas of adult clinical and laboratory haematology.
