Hospital Services
Western Diagnostic Pathology provides and manages the laboratory based testing and diagnostic services to a number of leading private and public hospitals across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Hospital clients vary from small private hospitals to larger multi-specialty hospitals requiring on-site pathology laboratory facilities. Our services include 24 hour staffed on-site laboratory facilities, visiting pathologists and/or visiting on-site blood and specimen collection services.
Western Diagnostic Pathology has a quality focus with plans in place to ensure maintenance of NATA accreditation.
Pathologist Support:
- Western Diagnostic Pathology has a team of specialist pathologists with a wide range of expertise.
- Our pathologists support decision making on the choice and diagnostic value of the pathology test range at each hospital.
- Our pathologists are experienced in assisting clinicians with some of the difficult diagnoses and clinical management problems that may arise.
- Services include but are not limited to histology, cytology, frozen sections, core biopsies and fine needle aspirations.
On-site result access:
- Results may be downloaded directly into your compatible patient management software
- Web-based result reporting enables portable provision of results for those clinicians requiring access to their results from remote locations. (link to web result application)
The following services are regularly provided either through a laboratory conducted on-site at the hospital, or via our off-site laboratory network.
- Health Education - our pathologists are available for seminars and for consultation with medical staff providing regular “case study” meetings with groups requiring such interaction.
- Blood Banking service including autologous transfusions
- Specialised Reproductive and other Endocrine testing
- Frozen section analysis
- Arterial blood gases
- Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsies by specialist Cytopathologists.
- Infection Control and Reporting
