Western Diagnostic Pathology - WA Labs
Western Diagnostic Pathology currently operates four major pathology laboratories in the greater Perth metropolitan area. The main laboratory facility is located at Myaree and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.
Satellite hospital based laboratories are located at Mount Private Hospital in Perth, Joondalup Health Campus in Joondalup, and Peel Health Campus in Mandurah.
These hospital laboratories predominantly provide essential diagnostic laboratory services to the hospital in which they are located and to the practitioners located in surrounding areas.
In addition to these laboratories, Western Diagnostic Pathology also operates Perth’s only commercial veterinary pathology laboratory, Vetpath, located in the equine friendly suburb of Ascot.
Vetpath provides a diagnostic pathology service to the majority of veterinary practices both in Western Australia, interstate and also to practices overseas offering essential quarantine services for animal importation as required by AQIS.

Joondalup Hospital Laboratory
The laboratory at the Joondalup Health Campus was established in 1996 to service the hospital and the surrounding northern suburbs doctors and patients for all their urgent pathology. The laboratory runs 24 hours a day to service the busiest emergency department in Western Australia and the soon to be expanded JHC facility. (Due for completion at the end of 2011).
The laboratory, with its associated collection centre, provides a wide range of tests performed onsite for the Hospital, Specialists located within the adjacent Specialist Centre and local General Practitioners.
Mount Hospital Laboratory
The laboratory has been providing pathology services to Mount Private Hospital since 1986. Located within the Mount Hospital on Mounts Bay Road, the laboratory provides services for inpatients, Specialists located in the adjacent Specialist Centre via the on-site collection centre and urgent cases from community patients and medical centres in the Perth region.
Peel Hospital Laboratory
Western Diagnostic Pathology has operated a laboratory in the Mandurah area since 1982. More recently the laboratory has been located at the Peel Health Campus on Lakes Road.
The Laboratory provides pathology services to both the Peel Health Campus. We provide a 24-hour service to the Health Campus; this covers all aspects of pathology including emergency medicine, general medicine, surgical and obstetric patients.
The Laboratory also provides services to the general practices in the area through its network of numerous collection centres in the greater Peel Region.
WA Regional Laboratories
In addition to the metropolitan laboratories, Western Diagnostic Pathology also provides regional Western Australia with a diagnostic pathology service in the South West, Great Southern and Goldfields areas through its network of regional laboratories.
Albany Laboratory
The Albany laboratory, established in 1982, is located in the historical capital of the Great Southern, services the major towns of Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker and the surrounding hinterland.
There are several centres located in town and we also provide a mobile collection service to aged care facilities and the frail and infirm.
Busselton Laboratory
The Busselton laboratory established in 1984, provides pathology services to the greater South West region of Western Australia including the major towns of Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River, Augusta, Donnybrook and their surrounding areas.
There are collection centres located at Dunsborough, Broadwater, Busselton and Bunbury.
We also provide a mobile collection service to aged care facilities and the frail and infirm.
Kalgoorlie Laboratory
Located in the heart of the West Australian goldfields, the Kalgoorlie laboratory provides pathology services for medical and industry clients in the Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Coolgardie, Leinster, Laverton, Kambalda and Norseman areas for the past 30 years.
The Kalgoorlie Laboratory locally services the mining and associated industry for illicit drugs and alcohol screening. Two teams of collectors travel to mine sites daily to collect samples for testing usually with same day turnaround of results.
