Receiving Results
Western Diagnostic Pathology provides several different methods of receiving reports on completed pathology tests.
Paper reports
Traditional A5 sized paper reports delivered via our courier network several times a day or posted to remote and regional sites where our couriers do not visit.
Faxed reports
Reports are automatically faxed directly from our fax server to your fax machine upon completion of the result.
Electronically Downloaded reports
Using our own MQLink electronic result delivery system, electronic reports are generated in either PIT or HL7 format, encrypted using a site unique encryption key and stored in your results account on our results server.
The software that we install on your computer system then automatically connects to our results server and retrieves your results, decrypts them and delivers them to your compatible practice software system.
As MQLink is our own in-house developed system and not a third party system, it is completely maintained and supported by Western Diagnostic Pathology IT staff.
To enquire about having a download system setup and installed at your practice contact our Marketing department on (08) 9317 0999 or by email at WDP.Marketing@wdp.com.au
PathWay (Web Results Portal)
Once you have registered for a PathWay account and been approved, you will be able to securely access your PathWay account to view your patient's results using any web browser anywhere in the world.
An optional email alert system can also be configured to email you when an urgent, abnormal or any new result is available to view. Click here to register for a PathWay account.
PathWay Mobile
For existing PathWay users, PathWay Mobile is now available as an iPhone / iPad application that allows you to access your PathWay account from your mobile device.
The application can be downloaded from the Apple iTunes store here.
(NB: The application is free, however you will require an iTunes account to download it.)
Copy to recipients
Any copies of results that you nominate to be delivered to colleagues and specialists will be delivered by any of these methods also. All that is required is for the copy recipient to be positively identified on the pathology request form.
Reporting Combinations
All of the reporting methods listed here are not mutually exclusive, meaning that you may have any or all of these reporting methods setup for you.
Paperless practices
We support practices that are migrating to a paperless environment. Our two electronic reporting systems listed above are being adopted by paperless practices everywhere due to their reliability and speed. We are able to suspend paper copies being generated to practices that prefer this option and deliver reports electronically only.
Per doctor not per practice
All of the reporting methods listed here are available on a per doctor basis, rather than a per practice basis. So if some of the doctors in your practice wish to be paperless and rely on electronic reports only whilst other doctors still prefer to receive paper reports, we are only too happy to accommodate each doctor’s individual choices within the practice.
